Counselling for elderly parents — and for the people caring for them

Loneliness, low mood after retirement, grief, health worries, memory problems — and the exhaustion and guilt carried by the son, daughter or spouse holding it all together.

Any of this sounds familiar?

Most people who contact us are the son, daughter or spouse, not the person the worry is about.

Energy levels have dropped, and you can hear that they're not.
The phone calls have got shorter, and there's less in them.
Since Papa retired, the days seem to have nothing in them.
Since the funeral, they've stopped going out at all.
They've started forgetting things, and nobody in the family will say the word.
You're doing everything you can and it still doesn't feel like enough.
You and your siblings can't agree on what should happen next.
You're abroad, and every call ends with you worrying for the rest of the day.

Three ways this works

You do not need your parent's agreement to start.

You come, on your own

The most common way families start — and often the most useful. You work on how to raise things, what to stop carrying, and how to keep your own life standing. No need for your parent to agree to anything.

Ask about a session

Your parent, online

Sessions over a secure video link, from their own chair. Someone usually helps set up the first call; after that most people manage it themselves. Works from anywhere in India.

At home, in South Delhi

₹2,000 for a one-hour visit and ₹1,000 for each additional hour, within the South Delhi areas we cover. For when leaving the house is genuinely difficult.

Psychologist home visits in South Delhi

For older adults who genuinely can't get out — mobility, frailty, or the simple fact that a clinic waiting room is the last place they want to be. A psychologist comes to the house, at a time that suits the household.

Home visit feesper visit · no packages
1 hourA single session at home₹2,000
2 hoursUsual for a first visit, or when family joins₹3,000
3 hoursLonger assessment-style visit, or two people seen₹4,000

₹2,000 for the first hour, ₹1,000 for each additional hour. No joining fee, no minimum number of visits — you pay per visit. Many families find the first visit works better at two hours, since there's usually a lot to cover and settling in takes a while.

Outside these areas we'll quote on enquiry — it depends on travel. If we can't reach you, we'll say so rather than string you along, and online sessions work anywhere.

Who will come to the house

A qualified psychologist from our team — not an attendant, and not a stranger you meet at the door.

Verified before they visit

Every psychologist visiting a home is identity-verified and reference-checked, and has been briefed on working with older adults.

You know who's coming

We send you the psychologist's name, qualification and photograph before the visit, and they carry clinic ID to the door.

The same person each time

Continuity matters more than convenience with older clients, so we keep the same psychologist unless you ask otherwise. A female psychologist can be requested.

Being clear about what this is. We are psychologists. We are not a care agency, and we do not diagnose dementia.

We don't provide attendants, nurses, physiotherapy, medication management or residential care. Plenty of families use us alongside a care agency — the agency handles the day, we handle what it's doing to everyone.

Dementia, Alzheimer's and related conditions are diagnosed by neurologists and psychiatrists, usually with medical investigations. We support the person and family living with memory problems, and refer where an assessment looks necessary — including through our own psychiatric consultation.

This isn't an emergency service. In a medical emergency call 112. Elder Line, the national helpline for senior citizens, is free on 14567, and Tele-MANAS, the government mental health helpline, is free 24x7 on 14416.

Our clinic is at D-8, Green Park Extension, a short walk from Green Park Metro and close to AIIMS. Online sessions run anywhere in India and abroad — useful when the family is spread across cities or countries.

How it works

01

Start with whoever is willing

Usually that's you. Book in your own name — you don't need your parent's agreement, or even their knowledge.

02

First session

What's been happening, what you've already tried, and what you're actually worried about. Your therapist will say plainly what she thinks would help.

03

Whoever joins, joins

Some families stay with caregiver sessions. Some bring the parent in later, online or at home. Both are a complete outcome.

Questions families ask

Yes, for older adults in South Delhi — broadly within a few kilometres of our Green Park clinic, so Hauz Khas, Safdarjung Enclave, SDA, Gulmohar Park, Greater Kailash, Defence Colony and nearby. A visit is ₹2,000 for one hour and ₹1,000 for each additional hour. Visits are arranged by enquiry rather than booked online, because availability and travel have to be checked first — message us on WhatsApp with your area and we will tell you honestly whether we can reach you.

Book a session for yourself. This is how a large share of families here begin. A session can work on how to raise it in a way that does not feel like an accusation, what tends to make an older parent dig in, and what you can change in the meantime. Many parents agree later, once it stops feeling like something being done to them.

A home visit is ₹2,000 for a one-hour session, and ₹1,000 for each additional hour, within the South Delhi areas we cover. So a two-hour visit is ₹3,000 and a three-hour visit is ₹4,000. There is no package, no joining fee and no minimum number of visits, and you pay per visit. Outside the listed areas we quote on enquiry, since it depends on travel. Online and clinic sessions are priced separately — ask us and we will tell you plainly.

No. Diagnosis of dementia, Alzheimer's and related conditions is made by neurologists and psychiatrists, usually with medical investigations, and we do not do that here. What we do is support the person and the family living with memory problems — the distress, the changed relationships, the grief that comes before any loss, and the strain on whoever is doing the caring. Where an assessment looks necessary, we say so and refer.

No. We do not provide attendants, nurses, physiotherapy, medication management or day-to-day care, and we are not a care home. We are psychologists — the work is talking therapy for the emotional side of ageing and caring. Many families use us alongside a care agency rather than instead of one.

Yes, and this is a common arrangement. Sessions with your parent can run online or, within South Delhi, at home; sessions with you run online and are scheduled around your time zone. Some families use a combination, with occasional joint sessions. What is discussed with your parent stays confidential to them unless they agree otherwise — we will be clear with everyone about that from the start.

Yes, and these are among the most common reasons older adults come. Retirement can remove structure, status and daily company all at once, and bereavement in later life often arrives alongside reduced mobility and a shrinking social circle. Therapy will not replace what has gone, but it gives the loss somewhere to be spoken about and helps rebuild what can be rebuilt.

It is one of the main things we work with. Caregiver exhaustion, resentment you are ashamed of, disagreements with siblings about what should happen, and the guilt that follows all of it are ordinary responses to a genuinely hard situation, not a failure of love. Sessions for caregivers are booked in your own name and are yours, not your parent's.

For many, yes — particularly where getting out of the house is difficult. It usually works best when someone helps set up the first call; after that most people manage. Where video is genuinely a barrier, a home visit within South Delhi may suit better, and for some families a session at the clinic is a welcome outing rather than a chore.

A qualified psychologist from our team, whose name, qualification and photograph we send you before the visit so you know who to expect at the door. Everyone visiting is identity-verified and reference-checked, carries clinic ID, and has been briefed on working with older adults. You can request a female psychologist and we will arrange it wherever possible. It will be the same person each time unless you ask otherwise — continuity matters more than convenience here.

Yes. An older adult is an adult, and their sessions are confidential to them in the same way yours would be — even when you are the one paying. Your therapist will tell everyone at the outset what will and will not be shared, and will raise anything that points to a serious risk to their safety. If you need support yourself, the right route is your own sessions rather than reports on theirs.
