If someone at home is frightening you, a joint session isn't the right first step. Family therapy assumes everyone in the room can speak freely, and that isn't true when one person is being hurt or controlled.

Book an individual session rather than a family one, and say so when you book — we'll keep it individual. Nobody else in your household is contacted, and nothing is shared with your family without your consent.

In an emergency call 112. The national women's helpline is 181, the child helpline is 1098, and Tele-MANAS, the government mental health helpline, is free 24x7 on 14416.

Who can attend a family therapy session?

Everyone together

The whole household, or the members the conflict runs between. Useful once there's enough goodwill to sit in one room.

Two or three of you

A parent and an adult child. Two siblings. A couple plus one parent. Often the most workable place to start.

Just you

Completely valid. You work on your side of it — how you raise things, what you stop doing, where the boundary goes. Families shift when one member responds differently.

Nobody is put on trial, and the aim isn't to decide who was right. If a member consistently doesn't feel heard, that's worth saying in session — it tells your therapist something important about the pattern.

How much does family therapy cost in Delhi?

₹2,500 online and ₹3,000 at the Green Park clinic, for a 50-minute session.

One fee for the session — not per family member, however many of you attend. No package, no minimum, and you can pay by cash or UPI at the clinic.

Families come to our Green Park Extension clinic from across South Delhi — a short walk from Green Park Metro (Yellow Line), close to AIIMS. Online sessions run anywhere in India and abroad, which matters when the family isn't in one city.

How it works

01

Book a slot

Online or at the clinic, in whoever's name is easiest. You decide later who joins.

02

The first session

Everyone present gets to say how they see it. Your therapist maps the pattern rather than settling the argument.

03

The work

Who attends can change session to session. Progress usually looks like smaller arguments before it looks like none.

Questions people ask before booking

No. Family therapy works with whoever is willing to be in the room. Some sessions include everyone, some only two or three members, and plenty of families start with a single person. What changes the system is often one member responding differently, not everyone attending together.

That is one of the most common ways families start. You can begin without them and work on what is in your control — how you raise things, what you stop doing, where the boundary sits. Members who refused at first often join later once they see it is not a session about blaming them.

₹2,500 for a 50-minute online session and ₹3,000 in person at our Green Park clinic. That is one fee for the session, not per family member, however many of you attend. There is no package and no minimum number of sessions, and you can pay by cash or UPI at the clinic.

No. In family therapy the aim is not to establish who is right. Everyone in the room should feel equally heard — if someone consistently does not, say so in session, because that is useful information about the work.

Yes, and it is one of the strongest reasons to do family therapy online. Each member can join from wherever they are — a parent in Delhi, a sibling in Bengaluru, an adult child abroad — in a single session. Sessions are scheduled around the time zones involved.

No. Couples therapy works with the two of you as a partnership. Family therapy works with a wider system — parents and adult children, in-laws, siblings, or a household under strain. If the difficulty sits mainly between two partners, couples therapy is the better fit, and we will say so.

Yes, and in Delhi it is among the most common reasons families come. Sessions look at expectations, boundaries, who is caught in the middle, and how decisions actually get made in the household — without asking anyone to abandon their family.

Family therapy is confidential outside the room. Inside it, your therapist will agree with everyone at the start what happens with anything shared in an individual conversation. Nothing gets carried back to the family without your knowledge, and secrets are handled carefully because they shape how safe the room feels.

It varies with how long the pattern has been in place and how many members are involved. Many families notice a shift within six to ten sessions; longer-standing rifts take longer. Nobody is asked to commit in advance — you book one session at a time.

Yes, where the difficulty involves them. A parent or guardian consents on behalf of anyone under 18. Where the main concern is the young person themselves rather than the family dynamic, individual child or adolescent therapy may fit better and we will point you there.
